Jim Lowery, Conoco Phillips spokesperson said that the company has purchased 70 acres in the Karnes City/Kenedy area and will be building a new office.
“We are still in the design phase, but we expect to start construction by the end of the first quarter (2013),” he said.
The new office will be completed with people working out of it by the first quarter of 2014.
“This will let us consolidate,” Lowery said.
He said the new complex will house offices for more than 100 Eagle Ford employees, workstations for rotating workers, a maintenance building and a meeting space.
Lowery said the reason for the new office is “it’s closer to the center of our acreage position.”
The company has more than 220,000 net acres leased in the Eagle Ford.
