Mrs. Vajdos was born in Runge on May 23, 1924 to Joe W. and Cecelia Vyvlecka Zezula. Cecile was a member of St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Karnes City, the Altar Society, the Sewing Club and was an accomplished pianist. She was a housewife and also worked as a secretary, Pink Lady, librarian, seamstress and florist.
Survivors include her children, Virginia Vajdos of Seattle, WA, Nicholas Vajdos of Karnes City, Yvonne (Bobby) Morris of Karnes City, Vanessa Vajdos of Karnes City, Elaine (Chuck) Williams of New Braunfels and Mark (Kimberly) Vajdos of Fort Worth; five grandchildren, Allyson, Sloan, Noah, Olivia and Layla; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Regina Liska and Bernadette Steves and brother Ladik Zezula.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Christopher Vajdos and brother, Joe F. Zezula.
Visitation was held Thursday, Jan. 3 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Rhodes Funeral Home, Karnes City with a rosary recited at 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass was celebrated Friday, Jan. 4 at 2 p.m. at St. Cornelius Catholic Church, Karnes City.
Interment followed at the Karnes City Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Altar Society at St. Cornelius Catholic Church, Karnes City.
Pallbearers were Keith Steves, Curtis Steves, Tommy Liska, Jarrett Lott, Jerry Vajdos and John Vajdos.
