Out with the old and in with the new, Happy New Year everyone. I don’t know how we are going to top such a fantastic 2012, but I can tell you right now, from the perspective of the Kenedy Chamber of Commerce, 2013 is going to be awesome.

Our new building at 205 S. 2nd Street is scheduled to be completed this month, so look for our grand opening soon. We are so excited as we prepare to make our move back to our new home. Many new businesses have joined the chamber since we moved and I’m looking forward to having a social gathering soon so everyone can meet and check out our new place.

We can not thank Sue Butler Carter enough for her allowing us to house our office in her facility at 216 W. Main these past 6 months. I will miss the “fish bowl” view when we go and the beautiful art gallery openness of her office, but I know she is excited to be able to begin her Yoga classes again, and I’m sure you are excited about that as well. Thank you so much Sue for your gracious hospitality and generous spirit.

This Friday, Jan. 11, the Karnes County 2nd Friday Breakfast will meet at 7 a.m. at The 505 in Kenedy. You will find plenty of parking, good food and fellowship. We look forward to welcoming newly elected officials, business partners and community members to our gathering. The breakfast is hosted each month between both the Kenedy Chamber and Karnes City Community Chamber, along with Karnes County Economic Development. Join us at The 505 (Main Street) in Kenedy to hear the developing projects and ongoing programs in the county.

Until we meet, be blessed, Brenda Hansler, Kenedy Chamber.
