The Otto Kaiser Memorial Hospital Auxiliary held its’ annual Installation and Awards Luncheon hosted by OKMH Board of Directors. The meeting began at 11 a.m. at Barth’s Restaurant Thursday, Jan. 10 with 15 members present. Also present were board members Nancy Avant and Mary Szalwinski; OKMH Interim CEO and CFO David Lee; and guests Gina Vela and Sylvia Aguero.

Monthly reports were presented by officers as well as standing and appointed committee members. Treasurer Patsy Marchant also presented the annual financial report for the year 2012 and stated that end-of-year inventory has been completed. Patsy also noted that there are approximately 100 dozen tamales still available for purchase. Please contact the gift shop during business hours, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., or call 583-4507 to claim yours.

Gift Shop Buyer Nettie Remmers, noted new items are on order and should be arriving soon and advised the group of back order status of some previously ordered items. There was a brief discussion of our next fund raising event, The Spring Jewelry Sale, scheduled for the first Monday and Tuesday in March (4 and 5). Save the dates. We will provide more details as they are finalized next month.

The next order of business was the Installation of Officers for the year 2013. Past President Joyce Janssen conducted a lovely candlelight program and declared the following officers duly installed: President, Emma Villanueva; Vice President, Margie Pierce; Secretary, Lynn Buehring; Treasurer, Patsy Marchant; Parliamentarian, Sandy Satterfield; and Historian, Mary Hickok.

After the Installation, all adjourned to enjoy luncheon and fellowship with one another. Our next business meeting will be Thursday, Feb. 7 at 9:30 a.m. in the Hospital Board Room.
