Eusebio Chevo-Joe Garcia, 69, of Albert Lea died Monday, Jan. 14, 2013 at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea.

Mr. Garcia was born Dec. 16, 1943 in Karnes City to Jose and Jovita Garcia. He was a Karnes City High School graduate. He married Lily Zamora July 1, 1961 in Albert Lea. Chevo worked at the Ferris Nursery in Hampton, Iowa, then moved to the Albert Lea area where he worked on the farm near Hollandale. He also worked as a welder at Universal and the Albert Lea Foundry before becoming a certified custodian with the Albert Lea School District 241 for more than 20 years. He enjoyed fishing, western movies, music, dancing, his dogs and grilling out.

Survivors include his wife, Lily of Albert Lea; sons, Rudy and Philip of Albert Lea; brothers, Joe and Raul Garcia of San Antonio; sister, Gevena Vasquez of Karnes City; uncle Mercedes Garcia; sister-in-law Irene (Joe) Guzman; brother-in-law Jesse (Mary) Zamora and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Jesse (Emma) Zamora, infant daughter Helen and brothers, Paulo and Frank Garcia.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 19 at 10 a.m. at St. Theodore Catholic Church. Visitation was held at Bonnerup Funeral Home. The Rev. Timothy T. Reker and Deacon Mike Ellis officiated.

Interment was in St. Theodore Cemetery.
