God’s divine plan for humanity teaches us how to look at life and love. Man was created by the hand of God, and woman was created from man. We are made in His image, with the capacity for wisdom, reason, emotions, joy, and love.

A husband and wife are to be one flesh, united in spirit, soul, and body. Procreation, a gift of God, teaches us how to nourish, love, and submit to another’s needs.

All human life belongs to God. He sees new life as it begins. From conception, a human being has his or her own DNA. By the 18th day after conception, his or her heart is forming, and by the 22nd day, it is beating.

Every human is designed by God with a need for love. A void remains in our lives when we try to satisfy this need with anything less than His love.

People are born with a sin nature. “Sin” is who we are and what we do and do not do when we do not live in the presence of God. Sin is the dysfunction of the human race, and each family unit passes it on to the next generation.

On the cross, Jesus said, “It is finished.” What was finished? The work God gave Him to do; the redemption of the world. (See John 17:1-4) Redemption was a love gift from God that gave the entire human race a way to deal with the tragedy of sin. Through redemption, Jesus Christ reconciled us to His Father, so that we may call upon Him for salvation. He gave us the opportunity to be a new creation: to live a life we never lived before.

Salvation is when our will agrees with God’s verdict on sin and we turn from rebellion and receive Christ as our Lord. As believers, we are not exempt from committing sin or experiencing its consequences, but we are now accountable to God.

Every human being is a spiritual being with an eternal life. We who are saved need to take the time to help others find true love – God’s love. When will we honor the Lord enough to love the unborn, those with birth defects, the elderly, those with addictions, and the lost? When will we honor our lives to the point that we, too, can say we have completed the work God gave us to do?
