The Lady Badgers have secured a playoff spot, after ending their regular season last Friday with a 7-5 District 28-2A record and a 24-8 overall record.
Bi-district game details were not known as of press time, and the girls used Tuesday’s open date to get in a non-district game against Ganado.
The girls defeated Luling 54-38 Feb. 1, paced by senior point-guard Aileen Lundquist’s 18 points. Junior guard Kayla Ramirez added 11, while senior post Khadeshia Hopkins chipped in another 10. The girls dominated in the first and third quarters, and while Luling tried to rally in the fourth, the girls held on for the win.
Earlier last week, the girls beat Stockdale.
The Lady Badgers got a key win Jan. 25 against Hallettsville, 53-47, that helped pull them into third place in district. Sophomore post Morgan Kelley scored 14, Lundquist had 10 and Ramirez 12 to lead the girls.
