Well, spring has “sprung” at least by the calendar. And the weather has warmed up some and usually when it does most of us can’t wait to do some outdoor things. And, your Chamber of Commerce is excited to tell you that we are planning our yearly outdoor Fun and Fitness Day. This year, it will be held on Saturday, May 4 in the Karnes City Park. And again it will include a 10K Bike Ride, 5K Walk/Run, food/drinks, entertainment and inflatable jumpers for the children to be set up.

Registration starts at 9 a.m. that morning with the events beginning at 9:30 a.m. More information and details will be forthcoming, but just get ready to have a wonderful time outdoors for you and your family. Tables can be set up for vendors as booths and there will be no charge to have one. But we will insist that all fill out a form to register to do so and if you want to bring your own table that would be helpful also. These forms are available in the chamber office or we can fax or e-mail one if you call the office and let us know that you are interested. That way we can make sure that there is room for all who would like to participate as a vendor. Again, there is no charge to have a booth/table for your items to sell. So, we are happy to invite all who wish to participate to keep looking for more information.

An event coming next that you are invited to is the April 12 Second Friday Breakfast. This truly will be a unique one. Our main host and sponsor will be Daniel Blecher, Associate Vice President-Financial Advisor of RBC Wealth Management and it will be held at Jerry B’s Restaurant on Hwy 181 at the usual time, 7 a.m. They are helping with the breakfast as well and Dan, being a member of our chamber, has attended many of our 2nd Friday Breakfasts. So mark your calendar for Friday, April 12, and meet your community friends and neighbors for a neat and special get-together.

Remember to keep looking for more information about our Family Fun Day, Saturday, May 4 and consider having a booth in the park.

‘Til next time, Cathy Passmore.
