GONZALES – Goliad’s Jake Schneider, Quentin Alkek and John VonDohlen teamed for fourth place out of 17 teams at Saturday’s Gonzales Cross Country Relays at Independence Park.

Corpus Christi Incarnate Word Academy’s A team won the event and was followed by Bastrop’s A team, IWA’s B team, Goliad, Bastrop’s B team and Floresville.

In the girls race, Goliad finished seventh out of 15 teams. IWA was first and followed by Navarro, Bastrop, Cuero, Floresville and Karnes City.

The Goliad boys and girls teams will compete at the Corpus Christi Moody Invitational on Saturday at West Guth Park.
