Due to inclement weather last Friday, both the Kenedy Lions and the Runge Yellow Jackets saw their games against Woodsboro and Leakey, respectively, get cancelled.

Runge’s game against Leakey, which was set to be the Yellow Jackets’ Homecoming, was cancelled hours before kickoff and it will not be rescheduled.

As for the Lions, their road contest with the Woodsboro Eagles lasted just seconds shy of a full first quarter of play before it was called due to lightning. Woodsboro led 14-0 at the time of the cancellation. The game against Woodsboro will not be rescheduled.

In lieu of having their Bye week this week, the Lions look to return to action as they are planning to face the Junction Eagles in Hondo. Kickoff in Hondo is tentatively set for Friday, Sept. 27 at 7:30 p.m., though further details are, as of press time, still to be determined.

As for Runge, the Yellow Jackets will travel to Medina to take on the Bobcats. Kickoff in Medina is set for Friday, Sept. 27 at 7:30 p.m.
