Jay L. Adelman, was born August 10, 1927, and passed away peacefully on December 1, 2013. He was the son of the late Sam and Esther Adelman, and the nephew of the late Lilye Frankenstein. He graduated from Jefferson High School and Trinity University. Jay lived in San Antonio for most of his life, and was one of the owners of J. Adelman Antiques at the Menger Hotel. He was well known in the San Antonio arts community, and will be remembered for his impeccable taste and style. He loved music, and most of all his fabulous store. He is survived by a wonderful group of friends. Thank you all for your love and support. We would like to thank Ms. Tracy Glover, who faithfully took care of Jay throughout the last year of his life, and the kind people at Morning Side Manor, who cared for him during his final days. Jay shared his love of beauty with many throughout his life and he will be missed by all that knew him. Jay was a member of Temple Beth El, 211 Belknap, where his services were held in the Oppenheimer Chapel on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 with Rabbi Samuel M. Stahl officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his honor to Temple Beth El.
