Though the boys did come up short on both games, they gave everything they had.
With the short turn around from football, the JV boys have pushed themselves to get ready.
Nordheim Varsity took the first game with a final score of 48-45.
“We had a final shot with 3 seconds left but came up short,” said Coach Maldonado.
Leading scorers were Brandon Castillo with 9 points and Justin Mireles with 8 points.
Chris Pena had 8 and Derrick Wilson, Noah Garcia, and Jakob Castillo had 4 a piece.
Aaron Villarreal, Scott Saenz had 3 points and Danny Diaz had 2 points.
The second game the team came up short against Nixon Smiley’s JV team with a score of 52-32.
“Again the boys gave great effort and showed hear,” Maldonado said.
Dustin Soto and Derrick Wilson both had 8 points a piece, Noah Garcia had 6 points, and Chris Pena had 5. Justin Mireles had 2 points with Jakob Castillo and Brandon Castillo having 1 point a piece.
“The boys JV have showed great improvement in the few games we have had and we look forward to a great season,” Maldonado said.
