Mr. Leonard J. Kotzur, 91, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, in San Antonio.

Mr. Kotzur was born Oct. 18, 1922, in Falls City to John F. Kotzur and Mary L. (Skloss) Kotzur. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Force and served from 1942 to 1946 during World War II. He was a graduate of St. Mary’s University and Incarnate Word University earning three degrees. After 34 years of teaching in Victoria, Falls City and Floresville, he retired. He was a CCD teacher for 20 years, a church sacristan, a Eucharistic Minister and Lector, member of the Knights of Columbus, and served in the Rosary Circle.

Survivors include his brother-in-law, Benedict S. Wiatrek of San Antonio; nephews, Randall B. (Carol) Wiatrek, Wayne A. Wiatrek and Gary F. (Yvette) Wiatrek; three grandnieces; and one grandnephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lorraine Lucille Wiatrek and Edna Marie Kotzur; and by his infant brother.

Visitation was held Saturday, Dec. 14, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Falls City beginning at 9:30 a.m. with a rosary recited at 10 a.m.

The funeral Mass was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. that morning. Burial followed in the Falls City Cemetery.
