Linda Kay Johnson, 63, a lifelong resident of Kenedy, died Friday, Jan. 17, 2014 at her residence.

Mrs. Johnson was born April 22, 1950, in Freer to Troy Bennett Jr. and Wanda Whitley Bennett.

Survivors include her husband of more than 19 years, Bobby G. Johnson of Kenedy; her father, Troy Bennett Jr.; daughter, Elisha Faye Johnson of Kenedy; sons, Bradley Johnson of Kenedy and David Eric Velau of Vermont; grandsons, Dylen Malaer, Nicholas Troy Velau, Phillip Blankenship and Robert Blankenship; and brother, Dan Bennett of Victoria.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Wanda Bennett.

Visitation was held at noon, Sunday, Jan. 19, in Eckols Funeral Home Chapel, Kenedy.

The funeral service was conducted at 4 p.m. that afternoon in the chapel with Rev. Walter Hill III, officiating. Interment followed in the Kenedy Cemetery, Kenedy.
