He was born in Karnes City on Sept. 12, 1958. He married Irene Castillo McCarley on July 7, 2002, in Karnes City. He was a long life resident of Karnes County. He graduated from Banquette and Victoria Police Academy. He enjoyed two careers in law enforcement for 20 years and as a broadcaster/manager for KAML radio. He started his career in law enforcement in Runge, then worked for the Kenedy, Beeville and Karnes City Police Department and county. His greatest passion was baseball and barbecues with his family. He moved to Corpus for his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Irene McCarley of Corpus Christi; daughter, Jennifer L. McCarley.
He is preceded in death by his mother Norma J. McCarley and father Thomas J. McCarley; and grandparents, Emil Dittfurth and Helen Foerster and James Macon McCarley and Anita Brieger McCarley.
Visitation began on Sunday, Jan. 12 at 4 p.m. at Rhodes Funeral Home.
A memorial service was held Monday, Jan. 13 at 11 a.m. at the Karnes City First Baptist Church. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Rhodes Funeral Home.
