Leopards beat Yorktown, 61-47

The Kenedy Leopards varsity basketball team defeated Yorktown, 61-47 on Jan. 21.

After winning their first district game in six years, the Leopards kept the momentum going and won their second district game in a row.

Teryn Schmidt led the Leopards in scoring with 27 points.

Alex Miller and Jeanette Lopez each scored 9 points.

The Leopards lost to Pettus, 83-45 on Jan. 24.

Teryn Schmidt led the team in scoring with 23 points and Karly Nichols scored 14 points.

Last week’s competition brings the Leopards season record to 4-23, 2-6 in district play.

The Leopards will play Falls City at home Friday night. Game time is 6:30 p.m.
