Several Karnes City High School band students performed at The UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest this past Saturday at Sam Houston High School.

These students received division one Superior ratings: Morgan Kelley, class one alto saxophone solo; Chris Tobar, class one snare drum; Franco Padron, memorized class one snare drum and drum set solos, he will be advancing to State this May in both events; Flutists Mari Alaniz and Stephanie Garcez, trumpeter Miranda Leal and tuba player Josh Longoria, class two solos; Erin Martinez, Class three Flute solo.

These students earned division two Excellent ratings: Shyanne McHatton, Casey Morales and Kendra Pacheco, Class 2 clarinet trio; Clarinetist Jimmy Lopez and saxophonist Denay Gonzales, class two solos; Adrianna Serna received class three flute solo

The following KCHS students earned a division I rating on their class one twirling solos and will advance to state: Mari Alaniz, Denay Gonzales, Morgan Kelley, Kendra Pacheco and Abby Quintanilla.Kasandra Kellner received a division two excellent rating on her class one twirling solo.
