Lucy Helen Pollok, 91, of Floresville went home to be with our Lord on March 3, 2014.

She was born May 19, 1922 in Falls City, the youngest of 6 children, to John and Pauline Manka Lyssy.

Lucy attended school in Falls City. She married Vincent J Pollok on January 22, 1946. She worked as a homemaker, excellent seamstress, raising 10 children and took care of the family farm. Lucy later worked at Holmes Foods in Nixon and retired from Chevron Resources. She enjoyed making peanut brittle, baking bread, coffee cake and her delicious Christmas teacake cookies for all of her family. Lucy always attended all of the local church picnics every year and was so happy when she got to say BINGO!

Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Pauline Manka Lyssy; her husband Vincent J Pollok; siblings Edward Lyssy, Irene Pawlik, Proxie Wiatrek and Daniel Lyssy.; great-grandchildren, Kylie Wright, Kyley Wootan and Luke Pollok.

She is survived by her eldest sister, Magdalene Wiatrek of Kenedy; her 10 children Frances(Virgil) Pruski of Sandia, Susan(George)Wright of San Antonio, Fred(Pat) Pollok of Floresville, Rudy(Emily/Jeannie) Pollok of San Antonio, Rick(Sharon) Pollok of Poth, Robert Pollok of Hobson, Cathy(John) St. George of Floresville, Jimmy Pollok of Floresville, Liz(Dan)Stone of Poth and Sherry Gittinger of Floresville; 26 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.

Visitation was held Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 4:00PM with a Rosary vigil at 7:00PM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Panna Maria.

A funeral mass was celebrated on March 7, 2014 at 10:30AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, officiated by Rev. Wieslaw Iwaniec, followed by interment in the Panna Maria cemetery. Pallbearers were Brian Pruski, Greg Wright, David Pollok, Miles Stone, Troy Stone, Leonard Gittinger, Josh Gittinger and Dylan Pollok. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Rhodes Funeral Home of Karnes City.

The Pollok family would like to thank the Floresville Residence and Rehab Center and the nursing staff for their care of our beloved Mother. Floral arrangements are welcome or in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Building Fund in Panna Maria, Texas.
