The Kenedy Leopards Softball team saw their postseason window close a little but not all the way as they still have a shot at the 3rd and final playoff spot.

The leopards have to win their remaining four games and have Pettus lose their remaining four games and have Yorktown win one of their last four in order to force a three way tie for 3rd.

The young Leopards lost to the Pettus Lady Eagles by the score of 11-1 in Pettus this past Tuesday.

The leopards committed 7 errors throughout the contest and each error seamed to come at the right time for the Lady Eagles.

With the score 8-0 going into the top of the 6th, Emily Richter walked and stole second. Jennifer Zelanzy lined a rocket to right field that was caught on one bounce which did not allow Richter to score from second base.

Laurel Vickery laid down a sac bunt that scored Richter as they threw to first to get the out.

Teryn Schmidt lined another shot to the right side that was caught by Pettus’ first baseman to end the threat.

Pettus Lady Eagles added three more runs in the 6th to cap the scoring at 11-1.

Aimee Zapata took the loss despite only have 3 earned runs on the game.

The Leopards fall to 2-6 in District play and host Falls City on Friday night for Parents Night. Game time is set for 6 pm.
