Badgers defend district golf title

The Karnes City Badgers won their second district title on April 7 in Seguin.

They were led in this tournament by freshman Josh Leal with a score of 77. He was the district medalist. He was followed by juniors Jacob Janysek and Wesley Lovers-83’s. Cib Braun-86, Blake Janysek-88, and Peter Balderamos-110. They shot a score of 329 to win the district title and advance to the regional tournament in San Marcos on April 14 and 15.

The Badgers played in the Nixon tournament in San Marcos on March 7. They were led by Peter Balderamos score of 88.

Cib Braun-91, Jacob Janysek-102, Josh Leal-103, and Wesley Lover-107. The overall team score was 384.

On March 14, the Badgers played in New Braunfels in the Randolph tournament. Peter Balderamos led the Badgers with a score of 85. He was followed by Josh Leal-88, Cib Braun-92, Wesley Lover-95, Blake Janysek-105, and Jacob Janysek-110. The team had a score of 360.

The Badgers traveled to Seguin on March 21, to play in the Karnes County Jr. Golf Tournament. They captured 1st with a team score of 347. Cib Braun led the team with a score of 82. He was followed by Josh Leal-86, Jacob Janysek-88, Wesley Lover-91, Blake Janysek-92, Peter Balderamos-93, and Corbyn Wright-97.

Coaches expressed congratulations to the Badgers for winning 1st place in district and defending their district title.
