Andrew Aguirre, a senior from Kenedy High School, participated in the 1A Region IV golf tournament held at the Brenham Country Club this past week. All of the participants battled the elements during the 1st round, enduring 30 mph winds and 40 degree temperatures. Andrew managed a respectable score of 89 in those brutal conditions. The next day provided much better weather conditions and Andrew took advantage, shooting an incredible score of 76. At the end of the tournament, his 2 day total score of 165 was good enough to earn him 2nd place Medalist honors and send Andrew to the 1A State Golf Tournament. The 1A State Golf Tournament will be held at the Lions Municipal City Course in Austin on April 30 and May 1.
