“The class of 1964 has had five year reunions since we graduated and it is good to see each other at these reunions,” said 1964 RHS graduate Mary Keining Hughes. “We have been very lucky that no one in our class has died and we had eight out of 15 attend this last reunion. The best thing is seeing each other and catching up on the last five years.”
The reunion saw the former classmates enjoy a barbecue dinner with all the trimmings. The eight attending members shared memories through things such as scrapbooks, a powerpoint presentation, and the telling of memories going back to elementary through high school days spent in Runge.
According to 1964 RHS graduate Mary Beth Morgan, the RHS teachers and curriculum prepared the students well for the future. The 15 members of the class of 1964 went on to have successful careers in varied areas such as nursing/medical, law enforcement, education, business, among others.
“Many also volunteer for nonprofit organizations,” said Morgan. “The class thanks God for their lives and blessings throughout the years.”
The eight members attending the reunion were Mary Beth Schrade Morgan, Joe Altimarano, Pat Liska Eichmann, Mary Kiening Hughes, Larry Duckett, Dianne Blakeney Fidler, Charlene Novak Blaschke, Harvey Menn. Also attending was the classes high school chemistry and biology teacher Milton Johnson.
Unable to attend the reunion were former classmates and fellow 1964 graduates Harriette Battle, Josie Dalton, Loma Foster, Estella Garcia, Becky Konvicka, Tom Pool, and Patsy Setze.
