The 45-year-old Goliad woman claims she has also suffered memory loss, decreased motor ability, fatigue and a variety of other side effects since suffering a stroke in November 2013.
“I can’t sleep,” Gutierrez said. “I have to take pills to get me to sleep.”
Gutierrez is convinced that her life-changing medical condition didn’t have to happen. In fact, she is in the process of filing a lawsuit against the Goliad County Sheriff’s Office, claiming her stroke was due to excessive use of force at the hands of a GCSO sergeant on May 3, 2013.
