Kenedy implements Stage 2 watering restrictions -- customers limited to watering one day per week

KENEDY – The City of Kenedy mailed notice of Stage 2 Mandatory water conservation measures to all of their water customers on Thursday, Aug. 14.

The notice states that effective immediately, and due to continued drought and hot dry weather conditions, the city is implementing the measures in accordance with the city's drought contingency plan.

Outdoor watering of landscaped areas with hose-end sprinklers or automatic irrigation systems is prohibited from from 10 a.m. through 6 p.m. every day of the week.

Residents with street addresses ending in an even number (0, 2, 4, 6 or 8) may water outdoor areas on Saturdays between the hours of 6 p.m. to 10 a.m. of the following day.

Residents with street addresses ending in an odd number (1, 3, 5, 7 or 9) may water outdoor areas on Thursdays between the hours of 6 p.m. to 10 a.m. of the following day.

Use of water to wash down sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, or other surfaced areas is prohibited.

The above conservation measures apply to all water customers, commercial and residential, of the City of Kenedy.
