The Refugio Lady Cat 8th grade A team made it to the district volleyball tournament in Banquete on Saturday, Oct. 30.

The Lady Casts played San Diego the first game, winning in two games. Then the Lady Cats took on the Skidmore crushing them in two games, making it to the championship game where the Lady Cats lost to Banquete in two games. The 8th grade ladies ended up with second place in district.

“I would like to express how proud I am of these girls and how hard they have worked all season,” said Coach Mallory Adams. “These ladies not only learned how to be great athletes, but what it takes to be a better team.”

Adams said her first year as coach/teacher has been rewarding.

“I could not ask for a better group of girls,” she said. “Thanks to all the parents who came out and supported our team.”
