He was born Feb. 5, 1941, in Skidmore. He retired from the IRS in January 2008, after 45 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Leticia Amador; three children, Rose Vargas, Daniel J. Amador and Colette Pence; two stepchildren, Melissa Pratt and Michael Madrigal; his mother, Guadalupe Amador of Skidmore; three sisters, Minnie McGee of Skidmore, Adela DeLeon of Mathis and Milo Garza of Denton; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home in Austin with a rosary recited there at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass was to be celebrated at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Santa Cruz Catholic Church in Buda, with Rev. Monsignor Joseph Deane officiating.
