Three Rivers Speech and Debate teams compete at LaVernia competition

The Three Rivers High School Speech and Debate team competed at LaVernia on Saturday, Nov. 6 with Lindsey Weber earning first place in Lincoln-Douglas Debate.

The Cross-Examination team of Bradley Bellows and Maegan Haag placed third. Lindsey Zamzow placed sixth in informative speaking.

Mikaila Rushing, Gage Saenz, Tessa Gregory, Dani Coquat, Chris Duenes, April Lemos, and Caitlyn O’Neil also competed.

On Saturday, Nov. 13, the team traveled to Devine High School for competition. Rushing placed third in prose, Haley Rodriguez placed sixth in prose, Darcy Orsak earned third in poetry, Haag placed fifth in poetry, and Joshua Gutierrez was a quarter-finalist in Lincoln Douglas Debate. Gregory, Tara Soliz, Lindsey Zamzow, Gage Saenz also competed at this meet.

The speech and debate team is coached by Mr. Kenneth Rohrbach, Mrs. Kathryn Wolff, and Mr. Jimmy Conn.
