The Beeville Lady Trojans paid a visit to the Jags on Friday night and were never really in the contest. The Jaguars dealt the visitors a 80-54 loss.
Floresville raced out to a big first period lead and never looked back. The Jags led by 20-plus points by the end of the first period and used a mix of starters and reserves the rest of the way.
“We dug ourselves too deep of a hole before we figured out that they are just like any other team. We had to believe in ourselves and not get down,” said Lady Trojan head coach Katina Walker.
The final was a tough loss for the Lady Trojans at 80-54, and put their district record at 0-3 while their overall mark settled to 10-13.
Chelsea Contreras led the Beeville scoring with 17 points to go along with nine rebounds. Theresa Amador followed with 14 points and a like number of caroms for a double-double on the night. Victoria Elizalde finished with five points and hauled down 11 rebounds from her wing position.
The Lady Trojans entertained the Port Lavaca Sandies on Tuesday night and will travel to Gregory-Portland on Friday night to meet the Lady Wildcats.
