Three Rivers Chamber of Commerce to hold banquet Monday evening

Tickets are still available for the 2009 Three Rivers Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting and Banquet scheduled for the Three Rivers Schools Student Activity Center cafeteria for Monday, Jan. 12, beginning at 6 p.m. according to chamber president Lloyd Grubbs.

The theme of the banquet will be “The State of Our State Parks” and the speaker will be State Parks Division Director Walter D. Dabney.

The meeting will begin with a reception and silent auction at 6 p.m. “We are still in need of items for the silent auction which has been so popular in the past,” Grubbs said. Items should be brought to the Chamber office in City Hall or will be picked up by calling 786-4330.

At 6:30 p.m. the crowd will be served a steak dinner by Brush Country Catering. The program will begin with the invocation by Pastor Randy Samuels of the First Baptist Church of Three Rivers. The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag will be led by Chamber President Lloyd Grubbs followed by the National Anthem sung by Three Rivers High School student Krissy Arnst. Live Oak County Judge Jim Huff will be the master of ceremonies.

After dinner, the audience will be welcomed by Three Rivers Mayor James Liska.

Judge Huff will swear in the 2009 officers of the Chamber - Lloyd Grubbs, President; Rose Dove - Burch, Vice President; Lillie Mae Wieding, Secretary, and Jo-An Booth, Treasurer. Besides the officers, the Board of Directors is composed of Norma Newport, Betty Kinsel, Dan Joslin, Donald Kasper, Ann Janson, Rudy Mesa, Lynda Richter and Rita Arnst.

Presentations will be made to the “Volunteer of the Year”, “Elected Official of the Year” and “Educator of the Year.”

Tickets are available for $15 from the Chamber office at City Hall. Reserved tables of 10 are available for $150 at the Chamber office.
