Martha C. Zapata, 84, entered hr final rest on Monday, Nov. 2, 2009 in Victoria, Texas.

She was born Oct. 24, 1925 in Goliad County, TX to the late Delfino, Sr. and Guadalupe Martinez Castro. Ms. Zapata had lived in Goliad County and Karnes County most of her life and was a homemaker. She was also a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Juan Zapata, Sr., brothers, Manuel and Guadalupe Castro; and sister, Mercedes Serrano. Survivors are daughters, Gloria Brewer of Anchorage, Alaska, Felicita Garcia of Runge, Pat Ingram of Nordheim, and Eva Tollefson of San Antonio; sons, Juan Zapata, Jr. and Manuel Zapata both of San Antonio and Rene Zapata of Von Ormy; companion Lupe Aguilar of Runge; sisters, Jesusa Rincon of Smyer, TX, Juanita Zapata of Runge, Maria Caputo of New York, Edelia Ramirez of Runge and Anita Carabajal of Berclair; brothers, Delfino Castro, Jr. of Goliad, Joe Castro of Von Ormy, Tomas Castro of Houston, Ray Castro of Seguin, Henry Castro of Kenedy and Mike Castro of Runge; 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Finch Funeral Chapel.

The funeral service was also held at Finch Funeral home at 10:00 AM on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009.  Ms. Zapata was laid to rest at Runge L. A. Cemetery. You are invited to sign the online register book at
