A few new things could be coming to Kenedy as a result of action taken at the city council’s regular meeting May 11.

The City will explore using asphalt emulsion products for city road maintenance instead of the more traditional chip seal after a presentation by P2 Emulsions of Elm Mott, Texas. Council also approved selling sign advertising at the Red Holchak Baseball Field at Joe Gulley Park, and acted on entering into an interlocal agreement with Kenedy ISD for the district’s use of that field and the Annadel Rogers Softball Field.

Internet provider GVEC.net also approached the City about placing internet equipment on the elevated water storage tower at the John B. Connally prison unit, which the city will look into for the purposes of expanding high-speed internet availability in the area.
