A ground breaking ceremony was held on April 5 for Marine lance corporal Justin Rokohl’s new home. Rokohl lost both of his legs in Afghanistan while on patrol in the gunner’s armored turret in 2008.

The school “adopted” Rokohl as their HERO.

Rokohl was presented a check by Karen Sue Retzloff Weber (not pictured) representing the Ray Point Community Center. The check was for $26,593.27, which includes $1,000 matching funds from Thrivent for Lutherans. Rokohl earned 11 medals and ribbons while in the military, including a Purple Heart.
