The Falls City Beaverettes brought home the Region IV 1-A track championship trophy this past week. The meet was held at D. W. Rutledge Stadium at Judson ISD in Converse, Texas. The Beaverettes scored 89.5 points to take 1st place in the meet. Snook finished in second with 82 points. Placing for the Beaverettes were: Pole Vault, Maggie Holz, 1st, Shaw Moy, 6th tie; Discus, Caitlyn Jendrusch, 2nd, Jacy Gibson, 3rd; Long Jump, Camari Crawford, 4th; Shot Put, Caitlyn Jendrusch, 6th; 4x100 relay, Brittany Dziuk, Camari Crawford, Kayla Kotara, Ashleigh Blocker, 3rd; 800 m run, Alysson Bluhm, 1st;4x200 relay, Kayla Kotara, Camari Crawford, Ashleigh Blocker, Alysson Bluhm, 2nd; 400 m dash, Taylor Dziuk, 5th; 4x400 relay, Ashleigh Blocker, Camari Crawford, Shaw Moy, Alysson Bluhm, 1st. Placing for the Beaver boys in their division were: Shot Put, Brady Zunker, 1st; Discus, Scott Lyssy, 4th; and Pole Vault, Tyler Malcolm, 5th. Contestants finishing in 1st or 2nd place at the regional track meets have qualified and will participate in the State Track and Field Championships in Austin, on May 13-14.
