Mrs. Manuela “Mamie” Romero, age 67, a resident of Mineral, Texas passed away on May 16, 2011, in Corpus Christi. She was born on July 2, 1943, in Mineral, Texas to the late Andres and Fidela Rivas Rodriguez. Mrs. Romero graduated from Pawnee High School in 1963; she was also a licensed beautician and retired from Dillards as a professional seamstress after 30 years of service.

Survivors include her husband; Ricardo Romero of Mineral; one daughter, Rebekah Richardson; one son, Robert (Martha) Romero, both of Corpus Christi; one brother, Joe (Rose Marie) Rodriguez of Kingsburg; three sisters, Adela Castro of Katy, Margaret Quintero of Houston and Lydia Sherman of Corpus Christi; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home. A memorial service was held at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Treviño Funeral Home. Pallbearers were William Richardson, Moe Romero, John Phillip Reyes, Reggie Watson, Robert Romero and Ram Romero. Burial followed at Mineral Cemetery. Pastor Alcides Guajardo officiated.
