Mabel Forth Collins, 88, of Boone, N.C., formerly of Beeville, died Saturday, May 21, 2011.

Mrs. Collins was born Dec. 30, 1922, Sanderson, to Susan (Dean) and James Monroe Forth. She married Glen Paul Collins in Del Rio on Oct. 2, 1939. She was a Baptist, a member of the Red Hat Club and worked at South Texas Children’s Home.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glen Paul Collins; and a son-in-law, Fred Gray.

Survivors include four daughters, Brenda Gray of Magnolia, Cathy (Tim) Racz of Boone, N.C., Paula (Talton) Gallagher and Tammy (Tony) Brannon, both of Beeville; seven grandchildren, Laurie Crawford, Tim Racz, Paul Gallagher, Mark Gallagher, Mike Gallagher, Kim Ingram and Tony Brannon.; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Bible Baptist Church.

The funeral service was conducted there at 10 o’clock following visitation. A graveside service was held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Westlawn Cemetery in Del Rio.
