Educational program in land farming in oil production to be held at Ray Point

There will be an educational program on Tuesday, May 31, at 4 p.m. at the Ray Point Community Center.

The topic of the educational program will be the land application of drilling fluids and mud also known as (Land Farming), and surface casing recommendations for the injection wells.

During this educational program we will talk about the overall practice of applying drilling fluids and muds and will discuss the permitting process . On the program we will have Dr. Sam Feagley Professor and State Soil Environmental Specialist with the Texas AgriLife Extension Service.

Speaker will be Robert Traylor, from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. Traylor will be speaking about the surface casing recommendation for injection wells.

A $12 registration fee will be charged and 2 CEU’s will be offered for Private, Commercial and Non-Commercial Applicators. For more information contact the Live Oak County Extension Office at 449-1703. An RSVP is requested by Friday, May 27.
