Mrs. Young was born May 19, 1918, in Fort Collins, Colo., to Barclay and Cora Vesta (Botsford) Edwards. She was a Christian and was retired from Anita Dress Shops; she worked in Pittsburg, Walnut Creek and Concord, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Barclay and Cora Vesta Edwards; three brothers; and a sister-in-law.
Survivors include her daughter, Jean Thomas of Beeville; and a granddaughter, Vickie Thomas of Beeville.
A graveside service was conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Beeville Memorial Park with Chaplain Robert Styers officiating.
