Samuel and Constance Sturm Lyssy celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on April 30, 2011 with a Mass of Thanksgiving at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Falls City, Texas. Sam and Connie were married in the same church on April 29, 1961 with Father Theo Janysek presiding. Father Gregory Sawicki renewed their marriage vows and presented them with a memento from the Archdiocese of San Antonio.

Sam and Connie were blessed with 5 wonderful children and 13 beautiful grandchildren - Samuel Jr. and Kim Lyssy with Alexander, Alyson, and Zachary of Midland, Texas; Michael Sr. and Bernadette Lyssy with Michael Jr., Joseph, and Phillip Lyssy of Falls City, Texas; Lynette L. Lyssy of San Antonio, Texas; Carol and Danny Kelley with Ryan, Lauren, Morgan, Kendall, and Brittany Kelley of Karnes City, Texas; Angela and Darel Moczygemba with Kelsey and Brandon Moczygemba of Falls City, Texas.

After the mass, family and friends attended a beautiful and special celebration with a dinner and dance at Falls City Community Hall.

Their children presented them with a very special gift from Rome, Italy. The gift was an Apostolic Blessing given by HIS HOLINESS POPE BENEDICT XVI on the occasion of their 50th Wedding Anniversary invocating abundant divine graces.

Sam and Connie are still very active with their families, church, school and community events.
