A Tivoli man was arrested following a sting operation to recover more than $4,000 worth of fireworks stolen from Mr. B’s Firework Stand in Tivoli on July 1.

Victor Matthew Bravo was arrested and charged with theft, burglary of a building, and possession and sale of regulated material. Each count is a state jail felony.

The sheriff’s department recovered eight of nine boxes of fireworks.

“We set up the sting with a confidential informant,” Sheriff Robert Bolcik said. “After he was taken into custody, he confessed.”

The sheriff said the stand closed after the burglary and no fireworks were sold in Tivoli at the stand belonging to Sharon Francis.
