The OKMH Auxiliary met in the Hospital Board Room at 9:30am, Thursday 4 Aug 2011, for it monthly business meeting. Twelve Auxiliary members and one guest were present. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved followed by reports from Appointed and Standing committees.

The summer vacation time will soon be ending and Auxiliary members are planning and preparing for several events scheduled during the fall. Watch for details for the Masquerade Jewelry Sale in October and Tamale Sale in November as the time nears. The Gift Shop is receiving new inventory each week in anticipation of continued strong sales. Angels, crosses, and purses are among some of the popular items available and lots of new items for Christmas will soon be on the shelves.

Over the past two months the Auxiliary has been able to approve expenditures of approximately $9,000 to purchase two new items for the Physical Therapy Department. These purchases are only possible due to the success of our fund-raising activities—and that success is due to the wonderful community support. Thank you for helping us help others.

If you are searching for a worthwhile endeavor where you can direct your time and energy, we’re looking for you as well. We invite those ladies and gentlemen (yes, gentlemen…. We need you too!) who are willing to give of themselves in service to the community to visit us and see if the OKMH Auxiliary is the right place for you.

Our next meeting will be held Thursday, 8 September 2011, in the Hospital Board Room at 9:30 a.m.

Volunteers are not paid—Not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless!
