George West jumped out on top in the first quarter scoring 10 points. Rylie Shannon and Elizabeth Cansino led the charge scoring four points each while Jourdanton managed to score only six.
The second quarter was all GW as the JV Squad went on a 16 point barrage. Alexa Wheeler led the scoring with eight, Shannon contributed four and Cansino and Amber Villafranca added two each.
George West struggled to score in the second half managing only three and two points in the third and fourth quarters respectively. The JV Lady Horns defeated Jourdanton by a score of 31-22.
The JV Lady Horns hosted Dilley on Friday, Jan. 9. GW and Dilley exchanged leads four times in the first quarter with each team scoring 10. Wheeler tallied six points while Cansino added four. Cansino, Sydney Williamson and Kiesha Lazo all got on the board in the second quarter with two points each.
George West went in at halftime with a one point lead over Dilley and a score of 16-15. GW turned the ball over early in the third quarter and was unable to convert at the free throw line leading to Dilley out scoring GW six to two.
The JV Squad played aggressively in the fourth quarter scoring seven points to their opponents four, but fell short at the end. GW lost to Dilley 25-28.
The JV Lady Horns are 3-1 in district play.
