It’s called Race to Recycle and it’s put on by Motorola. It’s a program that will monetarily help our local chapter and will also help educate students on the importance of helping to protect the environment.
Race to Recycle is a simple program that works on a couple of levels: First, community members can get rid of all the old cell phones they may have tucked in desks and drawers. And second, Three Rivers FCCLA will get rewarded for every qualified intact cell phone we collect and send to Motorola.
We plan to collect 100 cell phones during the month of January.
This project will not only help our school and our local community members, but also it may help alleviate some of the pressures we put on the environment.
Unlike other fund-raisers, Race to Recycle doesn’t require any selling. Our community members can simple bring their old cell phones to the Home Economics cottage, High School office or Middle school office during school hours or call Mrs. Coquat or Mrs. Carroll at 786-3626 ext.*413 to learn more about our participation in Race to Recycle.
