EOG personnel activated the facility’s emergency shutdown system and called for assistance from the local fire department.
The fire was contained within one area of the facility and was extinguished by members of the Gillett, Karnes City and Kenedy fire departments.
The cause and total damage is still under investigation by EOG personnel.
The facility is expected to be back in service in approximately seven to 10 days.
No one was injured during the fire.
