Willard R. Hudson, age 90, of Runge, TX, passed away Oct. 4, 2011 in Victoria, TX. He was born Sept. 18, 1921 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Orvill Hudson and Margueite Hudson. Willard served his country in the Air Force during WWII. He worked many years and many places as a Seismic Surveyor for Rogers Ray Geophysical when he met Leatrice Koehler and they were married on Oct. 4, 1947 in San Antonio, TX. They moved to Runge where he worked for Susquehanna Western, and then Berclair Naval Auxiliary Base. Willard also farmed and ranched all his life. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Runge; former Runge School Board member; and member of the Runge VFW. He is survived by sons Michael L. Hudson and wife Vivian of Victoria, and Mitchell Hudson of Pflugerville, TX; grandchildren Aaron Hudson and wife Amanda, and Kelsey Hudson; great grandchildren Mia and Jamie Hudson; nephews Billy and Jimmy Powell; and a niece Nikki Chambers. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother Jay Hudson; and sister Vivian Sevier. Visitation was held 6 until 8 PM, Friday Oct. 7, 2011 at Rhodes Chapel in Runge, with funeral services held 11 AM, Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Runge. Interment followed in the Runge City Cemetery. Pastor Pamela Dorman officiated. Serving as pallbearers were Mike Hudson, Mitch Hudson, Aaron Hudson, Milton Slaughter, Kenneth Foster, and Russell Osburn.
