Many thanks from your Karnes City Area Chamber of Commerce to all for coming to the Karnes City Park last Saturday, December 3rd.

Even with the inclement weather there was a good crowd of enthusiastic folks of all ages who really got into the Spirit of Christmas in celebrating together while braving the rain showers and the hefty breezes that blew across the park.

With several vendors offering a variety of items to show, share, and sell while the KCISD Band played great Christmas music, the mood definitely was fun filled.

Thank you Band Directors, George Durocher, Nathan Jones and all of the Band members.

And the Kenedy Baptist Church Line Dancers showed their skill as to how it should be done the next time we all go dancing!

The Basketball Throw Contest participants were eager and happy to vie for a free basketball that went to the winners in grades one through eighth as their proud parents watched them, especially as they braved the other contest with the weather. A special thanks goes to those helping with the Basketball Throw, Joe Bishop, Victoria Spencer, Randy Witte, and Brett Daniels.

They helped keep the participants aiming for those prizes! And, Dennis Mika, we couldn’t have done any of it without you.

Of course, the highlight for many of the children (and some adults, too) was the arrival of Santa Claus.

Coming at 2:00 p.m. in a Karnes City Volunteer Fire Department truck, the children of all ages lined up to have their pictures taken while sitting on Santa’s lap.

Thank you, Mike Saxon, for being such a good Santa!

And thank you, too, Jodell Miller, for helping to take the pictures.

If you haven’t already done so, you can pick up the pictures with Santa at the Chamber Office Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

And several more “thank yous” should go to our helpers who just made sure to be there to help as needed.

Eloy Cisneros, Sue Butler Carter, and Olga Serna, we are grateful for your help. Willene “Wish” Taylor, many thanks to you as well. Joe Baker, we appreciate the photos that you took and the attention that you always give to the Karnes City Chamber of Commerce events. It makes for happy times for all!

‘Til next time!
