PETTUS – Two Lady Eagle volleyball players Chloe Garza and Hannah Huskey were named to the Texas Girls Coaches Association Academic All-State squad.

It takes outstanding play on the court, along with an outstanding academic record in the classroom, to be considered for such a selection. Both Lady Eagles lived up to those standards.

Garza has a 97.5 average to excel in the classroom. She was a four-year starter as the team’s setter on the volleyball team under coach Erica Garza. Chloe earned second team all-district honors as a freshman and sophomore. In both her junior and senior years, Garza was named as the district’s outstanding setter. She has maintained a 90 plus average in her school work all four years of her high school career, earning Academic All-District honors every year.

Huskey also ranks near the top of her class with a 95 average in the classroom. She has started three years for the Lady Eagles and earned second team all-district honors and then first team al-district in her junior and senior seasons. Hannah also was an Academic All-District performer all four years of her high school volleyball career.

To be eligible for the All-State designation, the senior class student/athletes must have maintained a GPA above a 94 average.
