Ramona S. Hernandez, 89, died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011. She was born Sept. 22, 1922, in Dinero.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Guadalupe Hernandez; a daughter, Mary Salinas; a son, Rololfo; and sisters and brothers.

Survivors include two daughters, Viola S. Hernandez of Mathis and Juanita Hernandez of Houston; four sons, Lupe S. Hernandez of Lakeland, Fla., Reynaldo S. Hernandez and Elias Hernandez, both of San Patricio, and Avelardo Hernandez of El Paso; 18 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A prayer service was held Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012, at 7 p.m. at Dobie Funeral Home in Mathis.

The funeral service was conducted there Monday morning, Jan. 2, at 10 o’clock. Interment followed in Descanso Eterno #2 Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Dobie Funeral Home, Mathis.
