There will be a meeting of the Karnes County Historical Society at 6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 23.   This meeting is scheduled a week early this month due to scheduling conflicts.   The meeting will be held at 216 West Main, (formerly The Little Red School House) in Kenedy.    At the meeting we will discuss the status of the Ruckman House restoration, the Karnes County Courthouse restoration schedule status, new Historical Markers in 2012, membership drive, 2012 Indian Summer days and other items.

This will be a busy and productive year for the Karnes County Historical Society.  Marvin Wiatrek is completing Phase 1 of the The Ruckman House restoration project.  A new cedar roof is being added and the foundation has been stabilized.  Plans will be made to recognize and maintain the Flaccus cemetery and area.   With the purchase of our Covered Wagon we hope to participate in more community events.   Please join us Monday if you would like to help save and share the interesting and unique history of Karnes County.

Call Sue Butler Carter on 210-710-4896 with any questions.
