The Badgers defeated the Natalia Mustangs 75-62 in an intense high-paced game Jan. 31. They went into a road trip to Dilley with a 9-2 record and playoffs solidly in their grasp.

“Our offense was good, but we need to maintain our defense,” Senior Brady Braun said.

Braun led the team with 21 points, followed by Junior K.D Glenn with 16. Senior D.C Williams and Junior Philip Vaughan both trailed with 13 apiece.

At the half the Badgers led with the score of 40-32, and maintained a strong offense to continue putting points on the board, but the defense began to give up easy shots and layups.

The JV Badgers swept away Natalia, defeating them 66-39.

The long two-hour drive had no effect over the Badgers as they battled against the Dilley Wolves to come out with the victory 56-53 Friday night.

At the half the Badgers were down 22-21 and in the third quarter they were forced to make a comeback to be able to pull ahead in the fourth quarter.

“We just had to calm down and focus,” Senior D.C. Williams said. “After we did that, we took the lead.”

Senior Brady Braun led the team with 18 points, followed by Junior K.D. Glenn with 12, and Williams with 11.

The JV Badgers also dominated over Dilley with a win of 66-39.
