KARNES COUNTY 4-H CLUB MEETINGS

The 4-H Club meetings for Karnes County are listed as follows: Falls City 4-H, 1st Sunday of the month at 6 p.m. at the Falls City AG Shop. Karnes City 4-H Club, 3rd Sunday of the month at 6 p.m. at the Karnes County Show Barn, Kenedy 4-H Club, 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:15 p.m. at the Kenedy Fire Station. Lonesome Dove 4-H, 2nd Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at the Small World Day Care, Panna Maria 4-H, 1st Monday at 7 p.m. at Panna Maria Snoga Store. Runge 4-H Club, 2nd Sunday of the month at 3 p.m. at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

DISTRICT LEADERSHIP LAB

We received notice on May 11th, this year that graduating seniors will be allowed to attend. We are encouraging all Senior 4-H youth to participate! The deadline to sign up for District Leadership Lab is, Monday, May 28. The Lab will be held on June 19-21 in Fayette County. If a parent would like to volunteer as a chaperone for this trip, the county will pay for your room. Please call Willie Voelkel at 830-780-3906 if you have any questions.

4-H COUNCIL MEETING

There will be a meeting on Monday, May 21 at 7 p.m. at the County Extension Office. This will be election of 4-H Council Officers. We will also need to plan our Achievement Night Theme, meal & decorations for July 31 at 6 p.m. We are also inviting the Club Managers to come.

MAJOR SHOW STEER VALIDATION

This year Major Show Steer Validation will be on Wednesday, June 20 from 5-7 p.m. at the Karnes City Veterinary Hospital. The exhibitor does not have to be present at validation, but a parent or legal guardian must be present to sign the paperwork. All steers must be validated on June 20 unless a major emergency arises.
